AI Agent

Overview

The app comes with a built-in AI agent that can find, create, edit, and organize your notes — all from a simple, natural-language request. It assists with a wide range of tasks that help you make the most of what you've written, such as brainstorming ideas, proofreading text, summarizing notes, and pulling together information from multiple notes.

The AI agent understands the structure inside the app — notebooks, sections, and tags — so it can carry out organizing tasks on your behalf, like "Move my favorite notes to a new notebook" or "Add a tag to my recent notes."

The AI agent is a Pro feature.

What you can do

You can ask the AI agent for everything from everyday checks to organizing, using, and reflecting on your notes. For example:

Find and check: "Find notes about a topic," "Show notes I edited this week," "Find notes with todos," "What tags am I using?"

Create and organize: "Create a notebook for project ideas," "Move my favorite notes to a new notebook," "Add a tag to my recent notes," "Move this note to another notebook."

Use and reflect: "Summarize this meeting note," "Rewrite this long text to be easier to read," "Summarize my recent reading notes and tell me what stands out."

These are just a few examples. Simply tell the agent what you want to do in natural language, and it will figure out the steps needed and carry them out.

How to launch

You can launch the AI agent from the AI Agent button on the toolbar of the note editing screen. On Mac, you can also launch it from the menu.

You can also launch the AI agent from Quick Access, which appears when you long-press the app icon. There's no need to open the app and hunt for a note — you can start a conversation the moment an idea strikes.

From Quick Access, you can even call the AI agent by voice. Just speak what you want to ask, and the agent will find the relevant note and take care of it.

Scope

The AI agent understands the scope of its work based on where it was launched. If you launch it with a note open, it works on that note; if you launch it while viewing a notebook, it works on that notebook — always acting with the surrounding context in mind.

For high-impact actions, such as permanently deleting a note or replacing the entire body of a note, the agent asks for confirmation beforehand, and you can also undo the action from the chat.
