Privacy Policy

This policy applies to all of the information collected or submitted on FirstSeed's website and apps.

Information we collect

FirstSeed Calendar accesses your calendar, reminders, contacts, and location data on your device. FirstSeed Tasks accesses your contacts on your device. FirstSeed Notes accesses your microphone for voice recording and on-device transcription. You are prompted by the system before the data can be accessed. We do not submit, store, or use your calendar, reminders, contacts, or location data on our server. The data is used to provide the basic functionalities of our apps, such as displaying events and reminders, notifying you of birthdays, looking up nearby business locations, sharing projects with your contacts, etc.

Your calendar, reminders, and contacts are subject to the privacy policy that is set forth by the service(s) that you use to store them (iCloud, Google Calendar, etc.).

AI features

When you use the AI features of our apps — such as AI assistants and agents, summarization, meeting minutes, and action item generation — the content of your request is sent to our AI service providers, OpenAI and Anthropic, via their APIs for processing. The content sent may include the full text of your notes, tasks, calendar events, conversations with the AI assistant, and transcripts of voice recordings. We do not store this content on our servers, and under the API terms we use, the content is not used to train AI models. You can disable AI features in the app settings.

Google Calendar Integration

Our apps may offer an optional feature that lets you sign in with your Google account so that your Google Calendar events can be synchronized with the app. You can enable this feature from the app's settings and you can sign out at any time. The use of raw or derived user data received from Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

What we access. When you sign in with Google, the app uses Google OAuth 2.0 to access your Google Calendar data (events and calendars) and basic profile information (such as your name and email address). We only request the minimum scopes necessary to provide the synchronization feature.

How we use it. Google user data is used solely to display, create, update, and delete your calendar events within our app on your device. We do not use Google user data for advertising. We do not use Google user data to train AI or machine-learning models.

Who we share it with — no one. The app communicates directly between your device and Google's servers; your Google user data never reaches any FirstSeed-operated server, and FirstSeed does not operate any server that receives, stores, or processes Google user data. We do not share, transfer, sell, or otherwise disclose your Google user data to any third party. In particular, we do not transfer it to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.

How we protect it. All communication with Google's APIs is encrypted in transit using TLS (HTTPS). The OAuth access and refresh tokens issued by Google are stored on your device by the Google Sign-In SDK in the operating system's Keychain, which is encrypted at rest and protected by your device passcode and biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID). Synchronized Google Calendar event data is cached on your device only, in the app's local database, which resides in the app's sandbox and is encrypted at rest by iOS / macOS.

How long we keep it, and how to delete it. Because Google user data is never sent to any server we operate, there is no server-side copy to retain or delete. OAuth tokens and the locally cached Google Calendar data remain on your device only for as long as you are signed in. When you sign out of your Google account from within the app, the app deletes the locally cached Google Calendar data from your device and removes the OAuth tokens from the Keychain. You can additionally revoke the app's access to your Google account at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. Uninstalling the app also removes all locally stored Google user data from your device.
