Events are not displayed
If events are not displayed, first check whether the same events appear in Apple's built-in "Calendar" app. FirstSeed Calendar syncs with Apple's "Calendar" app, so events that do not appear in the built-in app will not appear in FirstSeed Calendar either.
Occasionally, after an iOS upgrade or at other times, events may disappear from Apple's "Calendar" app. If events are also missing from the built-in app, this may be the cause. Please contact Apple Support.
Local calendars (Default) lose their data if the device is damaged or lost, so we recommend using an online calendar. If you use iCloud Calendar, you can check your events by signing in to iCloud.com from a web browser.
To enable iCloud Calendar on iPhone, open the "Settings" app, tap your Apple ID at the top, then go to "iCloud" → "See All" → and turn on "iCloud Calendar".
If you are using FirstSeed Calendar ver 8.0.5 or later, some events may be backed up within the app. You can find the backup data (ICS file) as follows:
- Open the "Files" app
- Go to "Browse" → "On My iPhone" → "Calendars" → "backup" folder
You can restore using one of the following methods:
- Tap the ICS file and restore using the button at the top right of the screen
- Run FirstSeed Calendar's "Settings" → "Advanced" → "Import ICS file" to restore to the default calendar
Google Calendar events appear duplicated
FirstSeed Calendar can sync directly with Google Calendar. If you have also added a Google account in the built-in "Calendar" app on iOS/macOS, both syncs overlap and events appear duplicated.
The built-in "Calendar" app does not support Google Calendar-specific features such as per-event custom colors. If you use FirstSeed Calendar's direct sync, we recommend either removing the Google account from the built-in app or hiding the Google calendars.
To hide calendars, please see "Show & hide calendars".
Widgets are not displayed
If the FirstSeed Calendar widget does not appear in the widget picker, please restart the device. If the widget is added to the home screen or Notification Center but events or reminders are not displayed, restarting the device usually solves the problem. Alternatively, remove the widget and add it again to the home screen.
The following steps may also help resolve the issue:
- In the app, go to "Settings" → "Widgets" → "Calendars" and select "Custom" to choose as few calendars as possible
- In "Settings" → "Widgets" → "Font", increase the font size
