All four FirstSeed apps now support iPhone Duo. FirstSeed Planner opens into a two-page spread

FirstSeed Inc. has updated all four of its apps — FirstSeed Calendar, FirstSeed Tasks, FirstSeed Notes and FirstSeed Planner — for iPhone Duo, Apple’s new foldable iPhone. Open the device and each app switches to a layout that makes use of the larger display, so checking your schedule, organizing tasks and writing notes all become more comfortable.
FirstSeed Planner goes a step further. On iPhone Duo it opens into a two-page spread, the way a paper planner does.
Open iPhone Duo, and the planner opens like a paper one
FirstSeed Planner gathers events, todos, notes and photos onto a single page for each date. On a regular iPhone it works as a one-page-a-day planner. Open iPhone Duo, and two pages sit side by side, the way a paper planner lies open on a desk. Put today on the left and tomorrow on the right, and two days of plans and notes are in view at once. Or put the month calendar on the left and the planner page on the right, and you can write the day’s note while keeping the whole month in sight.
Pick a date in the calendar and the page on the right switches to that day, so there is no jumping between screens every time you want to check something. Closed, it is a compact page a day. Open, it is a spread you can take in at a glance — and you can switch between the two depending on where you are and what you are doing.
Move events with drag and drop
This update also adds drag and drop for events. With the month calendar on the left and the planner page on the right, drag an event from the page onto a date in the calendar, and it moves there. There is no need to open the event and change the date by hand. It feels like crossing out an entry in a paper planner and writing it in on another day. A meeting that slips to next week, an appointment that has to move — both can be sorted out right there in the spread.
We have also added a page-turn animation, so moving between days looks and feels like turning the pages of a real planner. The aim is the convenience of digital with the natural feel of paper.
FirstSeed Calendar, Tasks and Notes on iPhone Duo
FirstSeed Calendar, FirstSeed Tasks and FirstSeed Notes have each been updated for the larger display as well. FirstSeed Calendar offers day, week, month and year views and more. On the bigger screen you can take in more of your schedule at once, which makes the days ahead easier to grasp. FirstSeed Tasks is a task manager with board and timeline views, for organizing work and personal tasks and following their progress. FirstSeed Notes is a note app that combines text, images and handwriting. The wide screen of iPhone Duo makes reading and editing notes more comfortable.
With this update, every FirstSeed app is ready for iPhone Duo.
A new planner experience on iPhone Duo
A smartphone goes everywhere with you, but its screen only goes so far. A paper planner, on the other hand, lets you open it to look across several days, or jot something down while checking your schedule. The foldable display of iPhone Duo brings those two ways of working together in one device. In FirstSeed Planner, the closed phone is for a quick look at what is coming up. The open one lays out your plans and your notes like the pages of a planner.
All FirstSeed apps are available on the App Store. If you have an iPhone Duo, give the new layouts a try. We hope you will love it as much as we do.
